Lemery Colleges History
Recognizing the vital role of computer education in Filipino
society, particularly in the western part of the Province of
Batangas, Oscarlito M. Hernandez and Filomena M. Hernandez,
a young and dynamic couple, founded Lemery Computer Center
in February 1993. Initially operating as a computer training
facility on the ground floor of R. De Villa Building, Ilustre Avenue,
Lemery, Batangas, it offered tutorial courses to meet the growing
demand for computer literacy.
Lemery Colleges, now a prominent tertiary institution in the
first district of Batangas, traces its roots to Lemery Computer
Center. Recognizing the limitations of a standalone computer
center and encouraged by positive client feedback, the couple
and three business associates expanded its scope. This led to
the establishment of Lemery Computer School, which relocated
to Parco Building on Rizal Street, Lemery, Batangas, for its initial
operations.
In its first year of its operations, Lemery Computer School
received government recognition from DECS Region IV (Permit
No. TV-R-003 S., 1995) and launched three associate programs:
Two-Year Computer Hardware Technology, Two-Year
Computer System Management and, Two-Year Automated
Office Management. These programs attracted 52 students in
their inaugural year.
Strategically located in Lemery, a hub of economic activity,
and surrounded by eight developing municipalities, the school
experienced significant growth in enrollment. In 1994, Lemery
Computer School expanded its services by partnering with four
private secondary schools, providing them with computer units
and specialized high school computer education instructors.
The Lemery Colleges was chaired by Mr. Oscarlito M.
Hernandez as President and Mrs. Filomena M. Hernandez as
Vice β President and Treasurer while Mr. Felix C. Manalo, the
former School Administrator acts as the School Consultant and
Guidance Counselor. Lemery Colleges now conducts its
operation on a larger scale. Lemery Colleges is guided by its
mission of providing quality computer education at affordable
prices.
To accommodate further expansion and introduce more
associate and baccalaureate programs, the institution amended
its Articles of Incorporation. This led to its transformation into
Lemery Colleges, officially recognized by the Securities and
Exchange Commission. Now situated in Brgy. Bagong Sikat,
Lemery, Batangas, the college offers a wide range of programs,
including Junior High School and Senior High School, in
alignment with the K-12 curriculum.
Currently, Lemery Colleges operates under Dr. Lyra
Crizelle M. Hernandez's leadership as President, Mrs. Filomena
M. Hernandez serving as Vice President and Treasurer, and
Mrs. Lovelita D. De Ramos as School Administrator. The college
has expanded its operations, establishing allied schools in
Batangas, including Lyceum of Southern Luzon in Balayan and
San Luis. Recognized for its commitment to quality education,
Lemery Colleges has received approval from the Commission on
Higher Education (CHED) to offer various degree programs
tailored to the evolving needs of society.
With a steadfast commitment to academic excellence and
affordable education, Lemery Colleges continues to grow,
shaping future leaders and producing champions of life.
